Greetings Toro Families and Community,
I am a proud product of San Antonio Independent School District. I was born and raised in the West Side. I attended Rodriguez Elementary, Rhodes Middle School and Graduated from Sidney Lanier High School. I received my bachelor's degree in social studies from Our Lady of the Lake University with a certification in Education. I received my master's degree in School Leadership from A& M Kingsville. I have been in education for 32 years and have returned home. I started my educational career at Tafolla Middle School in 1994. I have met so many of my former students and fellow classmates from Lanier since the beginning of the school year.
Our Mission:
At Tafolla College Prep, we envision a world where every student, regardless of background, is given the wings to soar to their highest potential by excelling at any challenge. Our unwavering commitment is not just academic excellence in core areas but also molding the young minds of our students into future leaders. Through deep-rooted partnerships with parents and stakeholders, pioneering college and career programs, and adopting research-based teaching methods, every student will leave Tafolla College Prep a critical thinker, self-aware, and exhibiting agency. We will have prepared our students to excel at whatever challenge is placed before them.
Our campus areas of focus are:
- Safety- We are taking measures to make our campus more secure.
- Attendance- Our campus goal is to maintain better than 90% attendance by the end of the school year.
- Academics- We are focusing on student growth and student acceleration for our high performing students. Increase our academic goals from last year and plan to continue with patterns of growth each year.
- Finally, the most important part of our school community is our children and the families we service. Your child is a valued member of our school community. As are you. As parents and guardians, you are a valuable component of your child's education. Thank you for your support it makes a difference.
Let's explore, dream, and discover academic success. Together!
