My name is Mrs. Alvarez. I was raised in San Jose, California, and San Antonio, Texas. My husband is an Army veteran, and an interesting place we have been stationed at is Kansas City, Kansas. Of course, being in the military led us here to Military City. We have two children, three dogs, and two cats. We love to travel and learn more about different cultures.
This is my 11th year teaching at Woodlawn Hills. I've taught special education, dyslexia, reading grades 2nd–5th, and 4th grade. At SAISD, we believe every student can learn and achieve at high levels. I am excited to be a part of an International Baccalaureate program where we teach children world issues, encourage service learning, and promote student action.
