Welcome to our 6th grade reading classroom!
My name is Sarah Sanchez. I am the 6th grade English Language Arts and reading teacher at Rhodes Middle School. I have been with Rhodes for 4 and 1/2 years. I am from San Antonio and graduated from St. Mary's University.
In my classroom, students will be educated in social responsibility as well as English Language Arts and Reading. My primary goal is to prepare our students to become innovative, creative, and imaginative thinkers. Our course focuses on reading and writing while having meaningful discussions about various literary genres, which include: literary non-fiction, poetry, fiction, drama, persuasive, and informational text.
Through the study of selected literary works, I am committed to guiding students toward the goal of being critical thinkers and independent learners through a highly engaging, student centered, interactive, and standard based curriculum.
