Dear Families,
I want to inform you of an incident that occurred in the area near our campus today. We received a report of police activity outside the school, and as a precaution, we briefly put the school in a secure. Officers from the district responded quickly, and once the area is cleared, we lifted the secure.
For clarification, a secure is a procedure in which the perimeter of the school is secured by personnel, and this includes bringing students who may be outside, into the building. All students and staff remain safely inside, operating in a normal manner, but no individuals are allowed to enter the building unless designated by the principal.
Student safety is a top priority at SAISD schools, and we want to keep families informed of situations as soon as we are able. We thank you for your support and understanding.

Estimadas familias:
Deseo informarles sobre un incidente que ocurrió cerca de nuestra escuela el día de hoy. Nos informaron de que había actividad policiaca afuera de la escuela y, como medida de precaución, pusimos la escuela brevemente en estado de protección. Los policías del distrito respondieron rápidamente y, una vez despejada la zona, levantamos el estado de protección.
Para clarificar, un estado de protección es un procedimiento en el que el perímetro de la escuela es asegurado por el personal, y esto incluye meter a los estudiantes que puedan estar fuera, al edificio. Todos los estudiantes y el personal permanecen seguros adentro y operan de modo normal, pero no se permite que las personas entren al edificio a menos que hayan sido designadas por el director.
La seguridad de los estudiantes es máxima prioridad en las escuelas de SAISD y queremos mantener a las familias informadas en cuanto a situaciones tan pronto como se pueda. Les agradecemos su apoyo y comprensión.
