Rick Flores

Welcome to Wildcat Nation!

My name is Rick Flores and I have the honor of serving as campus principal at Rhodes Middle School. As a young man, I attended San Antonio ISD schools. My mother and I lived in the San Juan Housing Projects where I attended Storm Elementary, Lowell Middle School, and graduated from Burbank High School in 1990. Serving as principal at Rhodes Middle School is a privilege that I do not take lightly. I was raised in 78207 and consider it a blessing to contribute to my SAISD community.

Upon graduating from Burbank High School, I earned concurrent bachelor's degrees in music education and sociology from Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, Texas. In 2001, I earned my master's degree in Educational Leadership from Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas. In 2017, I earned my superintendent certification from Texas A & M-San Antonio. In October of 2022, I am set to defend my dissertation study and earn my doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. Being a first-generation university graduate was not always easy but it sure has been a worthwhile investment.

As principal, it is my responsibility to ensure that my teachers, support staff, families, and students feel welcomed, valued, and appreciated for the gifts that each brings to our campus. I look forward to partnering with each of you and we prepare our students for social and academic success. Together, we will build a school that we can all be proud of.

Con Agradacimiento,
Principal Flores
