Helpful Information


All students are expected to be at school on a daily basis by 7:55AM.  When they are here, they are expected to be in uniform, on time and ready to learn.  Students can not learn if they are not in school.   Attendance is marked at 10AM.  Students are marked tardy after 8:15 AM.  Students will not be released after 2:30 PM.   

There will be no other entry into the building by parents.  All entry must be made by parents, through the main office.  Pre-K students will be dropped off at the back door on Morales street and received by their Teacher Assistants.

All students will be dropped off by parents in the gym, where students will be monitored by staff members who are on duty. All students will be picked up by their classroom teachers by 7:55 AM.  so that they can eat breakfast and be ready for learning by 8:15 AM.  

All students are expected to be picked up no later than 3:20 PM.  We ask that all parents be patient and not go around other vehicles or buses because you are in a hurry. The safety of the children comes first.

Pre-Kinder, Kinder, 1st grade ,2nd grade and 3rd grade students will be dismissed from  the gym.
4th, 5th and 6th grade students will be dismissed from the fenced in area by the gym.

All students will have homework Monday-Thursday.  Each student will receive a Yellow Communication Folder which will be used for parents and teachers to communicate on a daily basis.  All homework will be placed in their folder and it is expected that they return it DAILY.   Classwork is the responsibility of the student and the teacher, homework is the responsibility of the student and the parent... They must complete all assignments to receive credit.  

Students are allowed to have a cell phone, but it must be turned off at all times during the school day.  If they are caught with their cell phones on, they will be confiscated.  Parents will have to pick up the phone and students will lose cell phone privileges on campus for the rest of the school year.  The school will not be responsible for any lost or damaged phones.  Occasionally students will be allowed to have their phone ON as part of a reward system.  More information will be forthcoming.

Students in the San Antonio ISD are required to wear a school uniform. Please review the Uniform section in the Student Code of Conduct Booklet for a detailed description of the uniform.  The office staff will gladly address any question that you may have about the school uniform. 

*Please note*

Pre-Kinder through 5th grade can ONLY wear NAVY BLUE polo shirts.

6th grade can ONLY wear GRAY polo shirts.

7th grade can ONLY wear BLACK polo shirts.

Khaki or black pants, capri pants, shorts, skirts, and jumpers are allowed for all grade levels.

The communication folder will also be used as a daily communication tool regarding behavior.  The folder will include a Calendar with notes on the outside sleeve.  Please review this with your child daily and sign or initial it, so that the teacher knows that you are aware of the behavior.  All children are expected to:  

* Be Respectful... treat others the way that you want to be treated.  No BULLYING!

* No horse playing... keep your hands and feet to yourself... this alone will keep students from getting into arguments or fights with others.

* Hallways... No running or screaming, stay on your side of the hallway.

* Cafeteria... No running, yelling , or screaming... sit properly and enjoy your lunch time.

* Walls... No tagging or writing on any walls - if caught the police will be called, parents and students will be responsible for the cleanup.  Keep your school clean and be proud of it!
