Mi nombre es Elena Aldaz, soy la mayor de mis hermanos. Nací en Quito, Ecuador donde viví hasta que terminé el colegio. Tuve la oportunidad de venir a Texas para empezar mis estudios universitarios en UT, Austin. En Austin inicié mi carrera como maestra bilingüe en un salón de Pre-Kindergarten hace 22 años.
Me mudé a San Antonio hace ya diecisiete años, desde entonces he trabajado en San Antonio ISD. Los primeros once años me desempeñé como maestra bilingüe. En éste tiempo completé un programa de maestría en Educación con enfoque en liderazgo en Concordia University en Austin.
En Agosto del 2017 tuve la oportunidad de trabajar como especialista de instrucción de lenguaje dual para el Departamento Bilingüe, en SAISD, por cuatro años. En ese lapso fui líder de grupo para las Academias de Biliteracidad, requeridas por TEA, antes de ser parte del equipo administrativo aquí en Mark Twain desde mayo Mayo del 2021.
Es un gran honor y responsabilidad trabajar para la comunidad de lobos en la Academia de Lenguaje Dual Mark Twain.

My name is Elena Aldaz, I am the oldest of my siblings. I was born in Quito, Ecuador where I lived until I finished high school. I had the opportunity to begin college at UT Austin. In Austin I initiated my career as a Pre- kindergarten bilingual teacher 21 years ago.
I moved to San Antonio seventeen years ago. Since then I have worked for San Antonio ISD. The first eleven years, I was a bilingual teacher. During that time, I completed my master's in Educational Leadership at Concordia University - Austin.
In August 2017, I had the opportunity to work as a dual language instructional specialist for the Bilingual Department in SAISD for four years. At that time I was a Biliteracy Cohort Leader for Reading Academies, required by TEA, before becoming part of the administrative team here at Mark Twain in May 2021.
It is a great honor and responsibility to work for the "lobo" community at Mark Twain Dual Language Academy.
