What is an Athletic Trainer?

Athletic training encompasses the prevention, examination, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of emergent, acute or chronic injuries and medical conditions. Athletic training is recognized by the American Medical Association (AMA), Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as an allied health care profession.

Our goal at Highlands High School is athlete safety.   Handling  catastrophic emergencies, injury care and prevention, wound care, doctor coordination of care, weather monitoring, practice and game coverage are just some of the things we do.

Most importantly we are here to help.

Parents and Athletes:  Feel free to email me or call the school and leave a voicemail with any questions or concerns you may have.

The SAISD Athletic Parent Portal is open for the 2021-2022 school year.  All athletic participation forms are submitted online via the SAISD Athletic Parent Portal. You can find the portal by visiting the SAISD Athletics webpage and clicking the blue box on the left hand side, labeled SAISD Athletic Parent Portal or go directly tohttps://saisd.rankonesport.com/ to access entrance to the portal and instructions page.
