Welcome Sarah King Community! My name is Dr. Gloria Martinez and I am proud to serve as your new Principal at Sarah King Elementary. I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Our Lady of the Lake University and a Master’s Degree, as well as a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at San Antonio. I have been in the education field for the past 17 years in Edgewood ISD.
I want to take the time to thank you for making the right choice by sending your children to Sarah King. We are excited to unleash our New Roar and to have our students back in our classrooms and hallways filling them with energy and enthusiasm for learning. My mission as Principal is to always do what is best for our students! We strive to create an environment where each and every student is given the opportunity to reach his/her potential. Our school must be a place where students feel safe and secure in their environment, and with their learning. It is also my goal to support our community and make an impact that will create life-long learners.
I feel that my dedication and passion for education will help me become a key member of the Sarah King Family. I will do whatever it takes to support our students, parents and staff. I plan to implement educational goals that will directly impact instruction and ensure the success of all our students and staff.
At San Antonio Independent School District we believe that all students will graduate and be prepared for the demands of the 21st Century workforce by attending college, or obtaining a meaningful career for their postsecondary education.
I am a strong believer that having a good connection with home and school is critical in students achieving their fullest potential. I am honored to serve as your Principal and I am looking forward to meeting and building relationships with our students and families. Together we can make a long lasting difference. Go Lions and be ready for the New Roar!!!
